1.
My name is Bridgett and I am VERY good at
anything concerning problem solving and sells. I think the two go hand in hand
because you usually sell to people who need to satisfy a problem! In the
business world it is said to need at least 6 sources of income to live a
comfortable life. My aspiration for this product is because I realize that
cable bills are just too high. Also Cable is not my passion it, business is so
it will still be a big part of my overall wellbeing.
2.
I am offering my customers to only pay for a
series of shows they watch for $12.99 a show. If they want the whole channel it
will be $15.99 per channel. This keeps down cable bills that are really too
high for the amount of television most people watch.
3.
I want to target working class adults ages 23 to
45. The reason why is because this group works, pays their own bills, and doesn’t
really have time for television. They understand why paying a cable bill for
300 plus channels is CRAZY!
4.
In this day and time EVERYONE wants to save
money! No wants to throw it away and if you are only watching television for 2
hours a week, paying $100 plus a month is not smart ( yet most of us do it ). I
am not taking anything from them with my business. They don’t have to resort to
not watching TV at all, just paying for what you watch.
5.
There are other services out there like Hulu, Net
flicks, and Amazon is on the rise. What makes me different is, you don’t have
to wait for the show or the series to air, you can watch it as it comes on as
if you had cable! Nobody else has that
I think the 5 elements go very well together. It makes your
idea stronger because it forces you to look at what it is you are trying to
accomplish. It makes you question just about every part of it to see if what
you are doing is really going to work and if it is needed.
Bridgett I love your idea! I only watch specific shows and I am not a big channel surfer so paying for all the channels I dont watch doesn't make sense to me. I do sometimes however like to find new shows when there is nothing else on. Maybe you could offer a free episode for people who are trying to figure out what shows they want to watch. ReplyDeleteI definitely think this is a good idea, but I do believe that you will have tremendous competition as you mentioned. Netflix, Hulu, AmazonFire, and other similar services are all finding ways in which to beat each other out, and I feel that eventually, one of them will float over to the idea that you have. Until then, you should jump on it to beat them to it!
ReplyDeleteHey Bridgett, while I see the ambition and drive in your idea, I must say that you are up against some very very rough competition. Not only is the telecom market difficult to enter, but also competition like Netflix, Hulu and Amazon are very tough and hard to stand up to. That being said, not a single one of them has released or even proposed what you have come up with. I think that with proper timing and a lot of dedication you can make something big that may one day be adopted by any of these streaming giants or even create an entire company around the idea of custom channel services. ReplyDeleteI like the idea of your business, but I feel that cable television is dying out. You are tapping into an industry that ultimately has no potential. Now a day, people are shifting towards streaming online and even televisions are coming out with apps from which they can stream anything at any time without watching commercials. You make some good points as far as the pricing and how people do just watch a few channels, but like I said, I feel you are tapping into an industry that is dying out.
